“Best fish & chips for miles..”
My second visit to Curleys and I was impressed by the changes to the place since I was last here, with nice weather and a lovely spring view over the lake I sat outside on the patio and had the best fish and chips I've had for a long time, I also learned they are now open till 8pm with a new menu and they now sell wines & ales so I'm going to bring the family next time. 10/10 =D
"Lovely setting on a summer day"
Freshly cooked food in an unusual setting - nice to sit outside overlooking the water when the weather is fine.

We’ll be back!
I'll get the negative comment out of the way now. We had to wait a long time for our food and then noticed people getting their food who had ordered well after us, unfortunately our order had been forgotten. The staff were very apologetic and offered us free refills on our drinks, they were very sincere with their apologies which was a definite plus.
The interior was a great surprise, I'm not sure what it looked like before the revamp but it looks brilliant now. At lunch time they have a pianist which makes really adds to the atmosphere.
I had the fish and chips which was one of the best I've had, the fish was lightly battered and very good size. It comes served with chips and mushy peas and was a very reasonable price for the size of the portion you get.
My only criticism would be that the menu needs a bit of a revamp. From what I can tell a large majority of their clientele are the elderly (which I have nothing against) and it seems they are staying safe by serving the same meals from a very limited menu. Add a few more choices on it and it my score would be approaching a five.
The staff were great, the food was great, the value was great. I'll definitely be returning!
Group dining in the private room
Over the weekend my family and I met at Curley's for a birthday meal in the small private room. We frequently enjoy a lovely breakfast at Curley's and are well looked after by James whenever we do but we thought we would try the evening menu. We ordered an assortment of dishes :- both types of fishcakes, cod, calamari, scampi, sausage and steak and ale pie, all served with chips. The quality of all the food was good as was the rose wine and bottled beer. They happily supplied plates and serviettes for a birthday cake which we had taken along and enjoyed with excellent coffees. The service from all the staff, headed up by Charlotte, was good. A lovely family birthday celebration!

"Not Just Fish & Chips”
Called into Curley's after a walk up Rivington Pike with friends and family and it turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. We had been into Curley's when the cafe had just opened and hadn't been that impressed but since then the place (pardon the pun!) has been transformed. The food was great. Most of us had the cod and it was loverly, the fish not too heavily battered, fresh and a good size too. The chips home cooked and the little touch with the tater sauce in a sealed pot and the mushy peas in a little bucket added to the presentation, Oh and the plate shaped like a fish gave me the impression they had thought about the presentation of the food before sending it out to the table which is important. The restaurant has been renovated to a high standard but has kept the 'stone and beams' look but with a modern appeal. The staff were attentive and the drinks and side orders at affordable prices. There was also a chap tinkling away on the piano whilst we ate which made for a very enjoyable afternoon. Overall I would recommend anyone to try Curley's Fisheries for an afternoon or evening meal. We will certainly be returning to try other food from the menu!
"Brilliant Fish & Chips”
CLovely lovely location... Settled on a reservoir... You really feel like your out in the country... Although just a few minutes from the M61. They were very busy indeed and so we had to wait a while to be served and then for the good to come. When it arrived though it was delicious and so worth the wait!!
